The Atacama Desert, Chile - driest place on earth

Hallo – I’m Nick Roe and I’m a journalist and travel-writer working for British newspapers and magazines. The site you’re about to explore is aimed at people who like travel, the outdoors, adventure and possibly a smile. Or anyone at all, really, I’m not proud.

In my BLOG you’ll find my take on the pleasures and pains of going places.  And you might like to have a look at the TRAVEL WRITING section (or just click on any country, listed right) where you’ll see features I’ve written for The Times, Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail and others, which I hope you find useful  or at least entertaining. You could also have a look at PHOTOS I’ve taken on my travels. And finally, if you’re still with me, there are a couple of sections (above) offering free route information on WALKING and CYCLING, two of my interests.

I don’t only write about travel, by the way. On better-paid days I cover all kinds of subjects including general features and lifestyle matters. So do please feel free to get in touch if you would like to comment on anything you read here – or, even better, if you would like discuss a lavishly-rewarding writing project.

I live in East Sussex, which is a lovely place.  I’m married with two children and I can be reached at:  nicholasaroe@googlemail.com
